If something goes wrong with your car and you don’t know much about car repair, then it’s time to go to the shop and find out what’s wrong.
You can check your Owners Manual and notifications from your dash. The warning lights on your dashboard are the most obvious starting point. Yet the most common, the Check Engine light, can be utterly confusing because it can cover problems ranging widely in severity. Others, like the engine temperature light, tire pressure light, or oil light are more straightforward to decipher. Regardless of what lights up, never ignore it.
RED lights are urgent warnings. You should pull over safely and shut your engine off. Seek qualified assistance from roadside services or call our shop.
YELLOW lights are warnings and should not be ignored. Typically, you should be able to continue driving to your near-by destination. Check your Owners Manual to determine what the light means. If in doubt, call our shop.
GREEN or BLUE lights are informational. For instance, your high beam headlights may be on.
Delaying a diagnosis and repair could lead to even bigger problems and/or costs down the road.
