Your vehicle’s transmission is responsible for getting your engine’s power to the driving wheels, and doing it in the most efficient manner.
Modern vehicles have three different types of transmissions:
- Standard or manual shift transmission (or gear box) that requires mostly clutch maintenance.
- Automatic transmissions, the most common type, that requires fluid (specialized oil) changes and filter maintenance.
- CVT (Continuously Variable Transmissions) that require fluid changes and inspections.
With a Car Repair Service oil change, or any other service, you’ll receive a Touch® Courtesy Check. We’ll look inside, outside, under the hood and underneath the car, then explain the findings and give you a written report.
Time for Transmission Fluid Change?
For automatic and CVT transmissions, a fluid change (using the specialized type for your make and model) often fixes transmission problems.
If in any doubts with your transmission, get the fluid changed.
Typical service intervals for automatic and CVT transmissions are 150,000 km. However, if you drive hills or tow a trailer, more often is better.
